First Lady Laura Bush travels to Mozambique
Recently, Laura Bush was in Mozambique's capital city, Maputo, to announce the
first grant to the Inter-Religious Campaign against Malaria in Mozambique. The program
is expected to benefit over a million and half people in the next three years. The
program will provide health education, training, and community mobilization through
trained faith leaders.

In addition, our country launched the Millennium Challenge account in 2002 which encouraged governments to invest in their people to foster economic freedom and growth. Yesterday, Mrs. Bush announced that Millennium Challenge has awarded Mozambique 507 million dollars to be used to strengthen property rights, upgrade roads, improve agriculture and dig clean water wells.
Millions of African lives will be touched by these grants. What good news for the people of Mozambique!
