Mobile Medical Disaster Relief

Our mission is medical. Our motivation is faith.

Our Work

We exist to exalt Jesus Christ as LORD and serve him with our gifts and the work of our hands.

MMDR began with one family's vision to fulfill Christ's command to "love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, strength and mind" and "love your neighbor as yourself." Luke 12:27

We extend the opportunity for you to join in our effort to bring medical aid and comfort to vulnerable and underserved people.

In Haiti

As you have no doubt seen and heard in the news, on the web and in church services, the effects of the earthquake in Haiti in January of this year were absolutely devastating. We were blessed with the ability to respond to the disaster quickly, and arrived in Port-au- Prince within 48 hours of the earthquake (read the story from Dr. Vanderpool here). Joining forces with non-profits as well as individuals from across the world, we were able to provide aid, shelter, clothing, food, water, and medical assistance to thousands who were suffering in the weeks following January 12th. But there was still so much left to do.

MMDR has returned to Haiti three times since the quake, each time partnering with organizations such as Healing Hands International and Hope Through Healing Hands to provide much needed treatment, medications, and vaccinations, including $50,000 of Tetanus Vaccine.

Mission Mozambique

In December 2006, David Vanderpool,M.D. traveled for MMDR from Nashville, Tennessee to Pemba, Mozambique. He carried with him the prayers of his family and friends, and quietly tucked away in two bags, 386 pounds of medical supplies. Through local contacts, Dr. Vanderpool was able to give medical treatment to over 600 people, and found on this journey exciting opportunities for service for Mobile Medical Disaster Relief.

In Honduras

We have just recently begun to work here.

We have partnered with Mission Lazarus, an excellent ministry, to provide clinics and other medical supplies while they supply the workers and the Gospel. The Kingdom has already been intensely advanced through their work and we hope to help increase it even more.

Hurricane Katrina-Mission Mississippi

During 2005 and 2006, MMDR made 6 trips to the Mississippi area to assist people in need.
